At Eastwood Heights Elementary, we understand what it means to carry the Eagle Standard. Our 4th-grade Dual Language teacher, Mrs. Armendariz since she started working at EHES has been a model of what it means to embody the Eagle Standard. It is with great pride that we announce her as our 2026 Teacher of the Year!
A Commitment to Bilingual Excellence
Mrs. Armendariz has become a cornerstone of our campus, known for her ability to create a classroom environment where both English and Spanish are celebrated. Her students don't just learn math, science, and reading; they learn how to navigate a global world with confidence.
Impact Beyond the Classroom
Colleagues describe Mrs. Armendariz as "very dedicated and supportive." Whether she is translating for a family in need or making an impact for our emergent bilingual students, her impact is felt far beyond the four walls of her classroom.
“Ms. Armendariz is known for building meaningful relationships with students and families. She communicates consistently, works collaboratively with parents, and approaches every situation with empathy and professionalism. Students respond to her positive presence because she balances warmth with accountability.,” says Mrs. Carbajal. “She is the kind of educator who notices when a student is struggling, takes action immediately, and follows through with encouragement and targeted support until that student is back on track. She is an amazing teacher!!!!”
Celebrating Success
This award recognizes the countless hours of preparation, the heart she pours into every lesson, and her belief that every child can succeed. Please join us in thanking Mrs. Armendariz for her service to our community and congratulating her on this well-deserved honor!
